Feelings are not easy. Love and hate, jealousy and separation. Sometimes it is a game with the fire. If the fire is burning too much and too long both cards are lost and without the fire the tension is missing.
I do some work in photoshop but not so much, only for the red touch of the pic. At the moment I am a firebug ;-) The card game is now without the king and the queen of hearts.

Eigentlich wollte ich ja die kommenden Wahlen in Deutschland irgendwie fotografieren. Aber die große Koalition mit Angela Merkel als Herzdame? Nun gut, ich arbeite weiter daran. Habe ja noch etwas Zeit. Jetzt ist es ein Foto mit viel Gefühl, Hass, Eifersucht und Feuer geworden und ein neues Kartenspiel brauche ich auch ;-)

i took a nap this afternoon and had a few awful dreams. i don't think my nightmares would be nightmares to many people, and they're usually not even to me when i'm awake. but i can't control what my mind construes as a threat when i'm unconscious, which leaves me with an uneasy feeling that just won't go away. that leaves me lying upside down on the couch watching national geographic late into the night. bleh. i really hope i don't start getting nightmares again. i've gone for a long time without any, as opposed to the three to four i used to have weekly. =/ sometimes i think i need a vacation by myself.

5309: Soon to grace the Garden Island skyline, HMAS CHOULES heads out into the Gage Roads from Fremantle, and was due to arrive in Sydney on December 21.
We gave a link to the text to Defence Minister Stephen Smith speech at the CHOULES launch under the last submarine series pic, NO. 5292, but we have decided that - since it addresses a number of current issues vital to the future of the Navy, most particulartly the submarines - we should repeat it here.
Not that it was a good speech, in the sense of any elegance. The public contortions of language, both from the politicians and the Navy over the issues of incompetence and non-performance ["submarine availability"] in recent years, has now become grotesque.

LCF BA Show 2010

After the success of the MA show at the Mall Galleries in February 2010, the London College of Fashion asked us to create an installation for the BA graduate show. We wanted to create coherency between the two shows, both through the materials used and their interactive functionality, but we also wanted to push our original idea further. The Rootstein Hopkins space at the LCF is a much larger environment to fill than the Mall Galleries and also we had to deal with a larger number of students. Using a total of 150 digital picture frames, 500 steel plates and six 42" touchscreens, we created an open horseshoe shaped hanging wall with a separate hanging 'chandelier' in the centre.

I got a Flickr message a few weeks ago asking if one of my photos could be used in the BBC's "Who Do You Think You Are?" magazine, and...taadaa!
I didn't get paid for it (most of my photos are currently licensed under a Creative Commons licence so I'm not too fussed if they're used around the place, as long as I'm credited), but I did get my name in the magazine, and it's on sale in pretty much every town in the UK, which isn't too bad!

Norman has been working in IT for over 20 years. He worked as a FORTRAN and C developer for 8 years before making the jump to databases with Sybase. He then moved on to SQL Server working as a production and development DBA on SQL Server since version 6.5. He is also a founding member of the Tampa Bay SQL Server User Group.
