Details and History
The Library of Congress website offers a multitude of historical images, many with no known restrictions on use. This image is from the early 20th century American Colony stereograph titled East of the Jordan and Dead Sea. Front view of the ruins of Mashita [i.e., Mshatta].

The ruins of castle Qasr Mshatta (قصر المشتى‎, "Winter Palace"), near Amman, Jordan, date to the eighth century. The Mshatta Facade, an important example of early Islamic architecture and art, currently resides in Berlin.

The National Library of New Zealand in Wellington, New Zealand offers a multitude of historical images in the Flickr commons. This circa 1890 stereograph titled Lydia Williams and dog Pogs, alongside her cottage at Carlyle Street, Napier is from the Alexander Turnbull library photographic archive.

Details and History
The Bibliothèque de Toulouse hosts a multitude of historical images by Eugène Trutat that document life in France at the close of the Belle Epoch. Many are stereoviews with no known restrictions on use. This image is derived from the image titled Etablissement " Le roi Léopold ", Luchon. Framing the image against the pedestrian was doubtlessly intentional - might this be the photographer's silhouette?
