The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and its partners are developing heartier new varieties of rice that can withstand drought, flood, cold, and toxic minerals such as salt and iron. By 2017, they are expected to benefit 20 million farmers in Asia and Africa. (Haryana, India, 2009)

We're funding some new ideas to create a "Toilet 2.0", which includes the capture and storage of human waste, as well as its processing into reusable energy, fertilizer, and fresh water.
